PSP DRP is a custom homebrew plugin and companion desktop app for the PSP that stores and serves current game / app data as Discord Rich Presence (a feature in Discord that shows others what you’re playing).

It’s been a long time since I’ve made anything in any scene and even longer since I’ve done anything with the original PSP scene. It’s been… over 20 years now, a full generation. Geez. Most of us from those scenes moved on or have gotten jobs since then. I for one have been working corporate for as long as I can remember.
… and then that nostalgia train hit me quite hard a couple weeks ago. Even having a Vita (it can emulate the PSP in full!) it’s just not the same as the original PSP 1000. The 1.50 / 3.XX split, savedata exploits, Dax, M33, IRShell, Pandora, flash0 fonts, 0x89, PiMPStreamer, furikup, Inferno, and POPsloader! I could go on… but… we’re all old now. I miss the old days, but I love the new ones! Most importantly, that we all still keep the scene alive with releases!
Well, I haven’t seen any new non utility plugins created recently for those old cats (at least from the places I used to hop) so here’s a plugin that solves two problems:

To satiate your hunger for stats and the overarching doom of spending more time configuring and looking for something to play rather than just playing, the companion app will record your gaming sessions (if it can; see GitHub for compatibility notes) and how long they were for each game. You can tell how much gaming I’ve done since getting and setting up my PSP 1000 for the past two weeks. Yes I love surfing that nostalgic gradient blue XMB and hearing those metal ticks. It’s instantly what I think about anytime I see a reel with aquatic ambience playing.

To fulfill your incessant need to always keep everyone informed of what you’re playing and when and especially for how long. The desktop app will send Discord Rich Presence provided by the PSP plugin over WiFi to your Discord Desktop app (I’ve only tested this on Windows, but I’ve provided MacOS and Linux builds).
It’s hard to find extra time from your day job to fully develop your side projects or even plant their seeds for growth. I really wanted to dig my hands into a Rust based TUI desktop app and I figured this would be a light use case for it. Full source for the Rust desktop companion and C PSP plugins are available at the GitHub link (pr’s/requests are welcome)
